Description of Industrial Petroleum Jelly

The petroleum jelly industrial grade is a semi-solid, translucent mixture of hydrocarbons, originally promoted as a topical ointment for petroleum jelly industrial grade healing properties. Vaseline industrial grade or yellow petroleum jelly meets the British and u.s. Pharmacopoeia for yellow petroleum the most important element of industrial petroleum jelly is the yellow color of it which is not suitable for most of the cosmetic or pharma factories. they need white petroleum jelly. Some ointments color is yellow by nature and may be suitable for petroleum jelly.

Industrial Petroleum Jelly Production Process

The production process of industrial-grade petroleum jelly is similar to cosmetic petroleum jelly but may involve fewer purification steps. Here’s a simplified overview:

  1. Crude Oil Distillation:
Crude oil is subjected to distillation to separate its components based on different boiling points.
  2. Decomposition:
Heavy fractions obtained from crude oil undergo high-temperature decomposition, breaking down large hydrocarbons into simpler ones.
  3. Purification:
The resulting mixture undergoes purification to remove impurities and contaminants. Purification methods may include filtration and treatment with absorbents.
  4. Hydrogenation (Optional):
In some cases, hydrogenation may be applied to enhance stability and remove remaining impurities. This involves reacting the mixture with hydrogen gas.
  5. Deodorization:
To eliminate any remaining odors, the product undergoes a deodorization process.
  6. Packaging:
The final industrial petroleum jelly is packaged in bulk containers such as drums or pails for industrial use.

Packing of Petroleum Jelly

It is packed in new or second hand 190 kg drums. Each 20-foot container takes 80 drummed petroleum jelly. We are flexible to change packing type according to the customer demand such as 25 Kg, 50 Kg and 90 Kg drums. The best economical option is to use 40 Ft. containers which contains 145 drums.
